WE OWN THE NIGHT

Joaquin Phoenix gives one of the year's best performances in this New York City police story. Phoenix plays Bobby Green, the manager of one of New York's most popular night clubs in the late 1980's. With drugs sweeping the city, Green's world collides with that of his police office brother (Mark Wahlberg) and father (Robert Duvall). There are few great things about this movie: the performance by Joaquin Phoenix, an awesome cocaine factory action scene, and a breath taking car chase. But the movie needs A LOT more and doesn't deliver. 2 1/2 of 5 hs
