LIONS FOR LAMBS

After watching LIONS FOR LAMBS, which is easily one of the year's worst films, its hard to imagine that Robert Redford ever directed such classics as ORDINARY PEOPLE, QUIZ SHOW, and A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT. The film is told in three parts (each part is connected if you're willing to accept the absurdity of this entire effort). The first is reporter Meryl Streep interviewing Senator Tom Cruise. Both actors give worthy efforts despite their shallow meandering material. The second is in the snow covered battle fields of Afghanastan...which looks completely staged and artificial thus completely destroying any authenticity. The third is college professor Robert Redford encouraging a promising young student to...oh who cares. I'm frustrated even writing this so I'll just say please don't bother...I want my 90 minutes back! 1 of 5 hs
