Boys Don't Cry

I had never seen this 1999 movie starring Hillary Swank. It was based on the true story of Teena Brandon, aka Brandon Teena, a transgendered teen. I combed the internet to see how true the story really is, and there are mixed views. Regardless, it is a very powerful film. Hillary Swank deserved the Oscar that she won for this. Definitely pay attention to the R rating if young ones are nearby. A 5.
